In an interview with eScoreNews, FaZe’s Robin "ropz" Kol discussed how he feels about community jokes suggesting his performance declined after purchasing an expensive sports car. Earlier this year, the Estonian esports player acquired a Porsche 911 Turbo S (2024 model).
"Of course [it bothers me]. I feel it's very personal. It's part of my daily life, and now people are laughing about it. It's unpleasant, but if someone finds it funny, so be it. I don't find it amusing.
I look at it this way: I'm just a regular guy. I enjoy good food, steaks, and cars. I'm just an ordinary dude. I'm in a position where I can enjoy life. But I wouldn’t want to be doing this when I'm 50. I want to buy a sports car while I'm young to enjoy it. That's how I see it."
Kol also confirmed the story about helping Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotiuk, who currently represents Team Spirit, purchase a computer a couple of years ago.
"Yes, that's true. I didn’t think much of it. A few guys from Estonia, whom I knew, were organising tournaments and doing things for the esports scene in the country. They asked if I could help a guy from Ukraine with equipment. I just said, ‘Yes’. I had the opportunity. Now people joke about it. Like, what’s next? Will I help another guy, and he’ll beat us, like Team Spirit did at Katowice? It was quite interesting and strange. But I’m glad to help, and I think only good came out of it."
Currently, FaZe is competing in the 20th season of the ESL Pro League for Counter-Strike 2. The team
