F0rest ends his playing career

Renowned Swedish esports player Patrik 'f0rest' Lindberg will no longer compete on the professional Counter-Strike scene. This news was reported by HLTV.org, citing a statement from the player himself.

The 36-year-old Lindberg will continue his esports career as a brand ambassador and content creator for NIP. He shared his thoughts on the decision:

“When I first started thinking about it, I felt sad. But looking back, I am very, very proud. I’m really satisfied with the journey I’ve had with my teammates, all our trophies, and all the trips. I also feel it’s good to close this chapter and give myself some peace.

Carrying the thought that you might still play doesn’t always benefit your mental health, in my opinion. You keep hoping, hoping, and hoping. I feel that by closing this chapter, I can now move forward.

When I realised this was really happening, there was a bit of sadness. But, you know, I’ve been playing for 17 or 18 years. I think I’ve played enough.”

Lindberg's last team was Dignitas, which he represented from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, he spent approximately eight years with NIP and played earlier for SK and fnatic.

Over his professional Counter-Strike career, which began in 2003, Patrik won 23 LAN tournament titles, including one Major, was named MVP eight times, and was ranked in the top 20 players of the year four times. In total, Lindberg earned $739,000 in prize money from the discipline.
