PGL has dropped Maniac

The tournament organiser PGL has announced, in a statement to dust2.dk, that they will no longer hire Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez for their Counter-Strike 2 events.

PGL representatives declined to disclose the reasons for this decision, although it follows allegations of sexual harassment against Maniac. Two women have accused him of inappropriate behaviour, including harassment, at a post-tournament party. According to HLTV.org, the incident took place during the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024.

Quiquerez has denied the accusations, stating that the flirting was mutual. He admitted that he may have misread the situation to some extent but emphasised that there was no sexual harassment on his part.

In light of this, the analyst has withdrawn from the ESL Pro League Season 20 broadcast to "avoid distracting fans from Counter-Strike." ESL representatives have responded to media inquiries, confirming that they will conduct their own investigation into the matter before deciding whether the Swiss analyst will be involved in future ESL events.
