Insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov commented on the technical and organisational issues at the Skyesports Championship 2024, which forced the organisers to cancel the first day of the tournament. In his Telegram channel, Biryukov expressed the opinion that the teams should have anticipated such developments at the tournament.
"I don't understand at all how the management of the top-30 [HLTV] organisations agreed to send their teams to India for the Skyesports Championship 2024. This failure was so obvious that it's a bit unclear why the participants are even complaining about it."
Earlier, the BetBoom Team decided to withdraw from the Skyesports Championship 2024 "due to the failure to meet the declared conditions."
The Skyesports Masters 2024 will take place from 23 to 28 July in Mumbai, India, at the Taj Lands End venue. The tournament is being held in a closed format, without spectators. The prize pool for the championship is $300,000.
