Christopher "MUTiRiS" Fernandes, a member of SAW, answered a few questions in an interview with bo3.gg following their match against The MongolZ in the group stage of IEM Cologne 2024. Thanks to their victory over the Mongolian team, SAW secured a spot in the tournament's playoffs. Fernandes shared his emotions after the match.
He admitted that he wasn't quite sure how he felt, as he had never participated in a tournament in Cologne before, and now they would be playing in the arena. He expressed his happiness to be there and his hope that their performance would be strong. However, he noted that they still had one more match to play before reaching that point, so they would have to wait and see.
Fernandes mentioned that the team was simply very happy. The game against The MongolZ was extremely intense, and he felt they were under some pressure. He praised The MongolZ for playing so well that the match became very challenging. Despite the pressure, SAW emerged victorious, and he was delighted with the result.
When asked about his expectations for the arena, Fernandes said he wasn’t sure. He mentioned that he was used to seeing all the teams on his PC, so the experience would feel different. He didn’t want to claim that it would be the best day of his life, but he was certain it would be a day he would never forget.
SAW will face NAVI in a match that will determine the more favourable seeding in the final stage of IEM Cologne 2024. The winner of this encounter will advance directly to the semi-finals, while the loser will start their playoff run from the quarter-finals.
