Thomas' team is determined to stay together and is actively seeking a new organisation.
Thomas "Thomas" Utting announced that his team has parted ways with 5W after just 30 days and is now in search of a new organisation to represent.
"Unfortunately, 5W has scammed us and reneged on their promises, ceasing all communication with the players," revealed the British in-game leader in a post on X.
"The organisation clearly wronged us. Over the past month, we've been grinding together and making significant progress. We are now seeking an opportunity to join a reputable organisation and demonstrate our capabilities on LAN."
5W Gaming, a newly established esports organisation reportedly based in Bangalore, India, surprised many with the signing of Thomas' new lineup in May.
Following this, Indian commentator Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam labelled the announcement as "unexpected" and stated that he had never heard of the organisation despite its claim of being based in his city.
Responding to Dust2.us Senior Editor Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore, Thomas elaborated on the unusual circumstances surrounding the signing, revealing that the organisation "paid several players upfront to sign, then disappeared completely."
When asked whether he believed the owners were looking to quickly earn sponsorship money or swiftly sell off players and vanish, Thomas provided further context as to why he remains perplexed.
"Well, from our understanding, they are millionaires, so money wasn't an issue. They simply stopped responding, fired our GM (the media guy vanished), and never contacted us again," he explained.
Under the banner of ex-5W, the team competed in just 14 maps in the Regional Clash Arena Europe, a $60,000 tournament where they defeated teams like GamerLegion, 3DMAX, and Gaimin Gladiators on their way to victory.
Joel "joel" Holmlund concluded the event with an impressive 1.53 rating over 18 maps, driving his team to a debut tournament win that they hope will attract the attention of a new organisation.
