NAVI's team captain, Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen, commented on his team's loss in the final of the recent BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 for Counter-Strike 2 during a post-match interview. Virolainen is optimistic about the team's prospects.
"Of course, it's disappointing, but honestly, NAVI has just built an international lineup, and we managed to win a major, which was a huge achievement for the team. After that, we somewhat lost our way, but here we have shown that we can win again. Even though we lost in the final and managed to take only one map, they were simply stronger than us.
At the moment, we are not the number one team, but we are among the strongest, and that's a really good sign for NAVI's international lineup. If we had won the major trophy and then just disappeared, it wouldn't have felt as good, but now we have regained our positions, and next season we will be more confident in our abilities. In the end, we did something right. In the past four or five years of my career, I hadn't lifted a single trophy, so there have to be some positive moments."
To recap, the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 took place from 12th to 16th May in London, United Kingdom. The total prize pool for the event was $425,000. In the final, Team Spirit defeated NAVI with a score of 3:1. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets was named the best player of the tournament.
