Alexander "zorte" Zagodyrenko, the sniper for BetBoom Team, commented on his team's withdrawal from IEM Cologne 2024 on his personal Telegram channel. The team is unable to attend the championship due to visa issues. The Russian esports player also shared the team's plans for the near future.
"Yes, we've been performing exceptionally well in recent tournaments; no one can seem to beat us. Our form has been incredible.
It's time to train. You know, we just arrived in India, but it's clear what kind of tournament it was. We were fully focused on Cologne, and then suddenly, bam-bam. Unlucky. You prepare, you travel... So, I arrived. I don't know, it feels strange. Now I'm just flying back home, knowing that's it. We didn't get to play in such a super cool, important tournament. It's quite something.
The plan now is to continue training, BetBoom Dacha. We'll see if we make it to the RMR. If we do, that's good. There's a big chance, it seems. Anyway, no point in guessing. Just tournament after tournament. I hope everything goes well."
IEM Cologne 2024 will take place from 7 to 18 August in Cologne, Germany, featuring 24 teams. The total prize pool for the event is $1 million. The team 3DMAX will replace BetBoom Team in the tournament.
