XomA about Virtus.pro

Assistant coach for Aurora's Counter-Strike 2 team, Andrey "XomA" Mironenko, has explained the reasons behind his departure from Virtus.pro. The Russian esports professional admitted that he struggled to adapt to the intense competition schedule and failed to establish a strong rapport with the players. Mironenko shared his thoughts in an interview with HLTV.org.

He reflected that the primary issue was time, stating that without the necessary time, it was impossible to determine whether his ideas could have worked. He noted the challenge of joining a tier-one team, where the packed schedule leaves little room for practice. When he joined, the team had five consecutive tournaments, which made it difficult to foster mutual understanding and synergy.

Mironenko highlighted that the constant travel and lack of time for training or discussions created an environment where he found it hard to adjust. However, he valued the experience, which taught him how things work at the highest level of competitive play, and expressed confidence that he would manage his time more effectively in the future.

He also mentioned that Virtus.pro lacked team synergy, as it was composed of highly skilled professionals, each with their ideas, but often unable to reach a consensus.

It should be noted that in early September, Virtus.pro appointed Pavel "PASHANOJ" Legostaev as the head coach, replacing XomA, who later joined Aurora as an assistant coach.
