Former Evil Geniuses coach Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg stated that during his tenure with the North American club, he was among the top three highest-paid specialists in the Counter-Strike pro scene. He shared this information during the Danish podcast Bedst af 3, excerpts from which are provided by the Dust2.dk portal.
According to Vorborg, the improvement in contract terms was facilitated by the situation where Evil Geniuses had no other candidates for the head coach role.
"I would say I had a very advantageous negotiation situation. I received many offers from other top teams in Counter-Strike, and EG didn't feel they had other options for the coaching position at that time. So, I think during the negotiations, I raised the amount by 70% or something like that. I don't know the situation of everyone else, but I believe at that time I was one of the highest-paid coaches in the world, at least in the top three."
Recall that Vorborg coached the "Evil Geniuses" from August 2022 to June 2023. The Danish specialist failed to lead the team out of a prolonged period of failure, which began in 2021, and after six months, the club exited the Counter-Strike pro scene altogether.
