Former coach of Evil Geniuses and Copenhagen Flames, Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg, who has now retired from his CS career, shared his thoughts on the new rules for Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. The Dane appreciated the changes but noted that they would hinder smaller online tournaments.
"These are good rules. They will ensure a more open and fair ecosystem, where invitations are based on merit rather than connections or money. However, implementing them in the online scene will be difficult, and they will impede tournaments like the CCT."
Previously, the CEO of the Russian esports club BetBoom Team, Alexander Sevirinov, also expressed his opinion on this matter. Sevirinov, in particular, believes that the document requires refinement.
The new regulations will apply to all Counter-Strike 2 events that conclude after 31 December 2024.
