Team Spirit player Miroslav "zont1x" Plakhotya revealed in an interview with HLTV what he and his teammates had been up to for the past six weeks, during which the team didn't play any official matches. According to zont1x, only two weeks out of these six were spent on vacation.
"We rested for almost two weeks after losing to FaZe at the major. Then we had a lot of training and boot camp. We just took two weeks off, and then started playing a lot again."
Plakhotya also explained why Team Spirit skipped the recent ESL Pro League Season 19 championship in Malta, which ended with MOUZ emerging as the victors.
"Firstly, we received the invitation very late. By that time, we had already been resting for 10 days. So if we had accepted the invitation, we would have had to play without any preparation. That's not what we needed, honestly. And secondly, we had visa issues. We needed to get a visa, so we almost physically couldn't participate in ESL Pro League."
Team Spirit won their debut match in the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 – today, the team defeated Aurora in the group stage. On May 16, the team will face the winner of the HEROIC – MIBR match in a game for a spot in the championship playoffs.
