The organizers of IEM Dallas 2024 announced on social media that they identified an issue with the server configuration, which did not account for recent changes to the CS2 economy. In the initial matches of the tournament, teams were incorrectly rewarded for planting the bomb on the attacking side.
Following the game update on May 24, the team reward for losing a round with a planted bomb was set to $600 to reduce the first round's impact on subsequent rounds. However, after the first day of play at IEM Dallas 2024, it was noted that teams were still receiving $800.
ESL assured that the problem has been fixed and that the economy will function correctly in the upcoming matches. The results of the matches already played will not be contested.
It’s worth noting that IEM Dallas 2024 is the first major tournament following a significant update that affected gameplay aspects of CS2. Specifically, point A on the Vertigo map was extensively redesigned, changes affecting the economy were implemented, and the behavior of incendiary grenades was adjusted.
