SunPayus: "Right now, I don't think I'm at a good level"

Falcons' sniper Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia explained why he and his teammates have been participating in so many competitions recently. According to the Spanish esports player, Falcons need to practice ahead of the Shanghai Major, as he mentioned in an interview with HLTV.

"I think it’s good because we want to prepare as best as we can for the Shanghai Major. We’ve been practising a lot and playing decently, but suddenly, in official matches, we started performing worse, so zonic and Snappi decided we should play more, which is why we came here [to Serbia], and we also have online tournaments. Yes, I think it’s very tiring, but at the same time, it’s great because I can see how fast the team is developing."

SunPayus also reflected on his current form in Counter-Strike 2. Garcia believes that his performance has been lacking recently, but he is confident that he will improve over time.

"At the moment, I don’t think I’m at a good level, but the team is getting stronger, and as the team improves, I’ll play better too. Of course, I know what I’m capable of, and this has happened before when I joined ENCE: for the first six months, I didn’t perform well. Now, during these six months, I haven’t shown anything remarkable either, but I know myself and believe it’s just a matter of time. I just need to keep smiling, stay positive, and keep moving forward."

Today, Garcia’s team secured a 2-0 victory against 9z, advancing to the group A grand final and guaranteeing themselves a place in the playoffs of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2.
