Snappi: "Virtus.pro is currently going through a bit of an identity crisis"

After Falcons' victory over 9z at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2 in CS2, FISSURE had the opportunity to speak with Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer. In the interview, he discussed the recent match and recent encounters with Virtus.pro at various tournaments.

— Congratulations on the win! The match looked quite straightforward from your side, especially on Mirage. How did you manage to handle 9z so confidently?

— Before the match, we had a meeting to discuss Mirage, as we had been struggling on that map, including yesterday against VP. Today's win against 9z shows that we addressed our mistakes and significantly improved our performance on this map.

— Did you expect such a result?

— I expected us to win, but I didn't think we would achieve such a decisive victory on the second map. No one could have predicted we would win a half with a score of 12:0, right?

— You have already secured a spot in the playoffs. Your next opponent will be paiN Gaming. Will you use this match as a practice game?

— We will strive to win. You cannot approach a match with any other mindset. We will prepare for paiN, but of course, we have a lot of qualifiers right now, including two matches today. So, our preparation for paiN won't be as intense as it was for today's match against 9z.

— In the match against VP on Vertigo, there was a clutch by SunPayus. Can it be said that this moment broke VP?

— No, I wouldn’t say that. At that point, VP was already quite far behind but started to come back into the game. SunPayus made an incredible clutch, but even if we had lost that round, we still had a good chance of winning the next one. There were plenty of crucial moments on that map.

— You defeated VP for the second time in a row. Can it be said that you are comfortable playing against them?

— In fact, we’ve beaten them three times now! We feel comfortable against VP, especially on Vertigo, where they don't always seem confident. We have a good understanding of how this team plays, and their current identity crisis is related to their attempts to change their playstyle.

— There are many rumours about your roster online. How important was it for you to secure a spot at BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024?

— BLAST is very important for us. The tournament will be held in Denmark, and I have never played in front of a large crowd of fellow countrymen. We need to make it into the top 4 to get on stage, which will be a challenging task given the competition, but it's a significant event for us.

The BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2 takes place from August 24 to September 1 in Belgrade, Serbia. Twelve teams are competing for a prize pool of $500,000.
