Team Spirit member Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov recalled the mindset he had when he joined the team. In an interview with eScoreNews, the Russian esports player noted that he was initially confident in his abilities. Sokolov also summarised the first half of 2024 for Team Spirit.
"I don't know, I didn't place any significant responsibility on myself. I just wanted to bring some of my experience to the team when I joined. I was confident in my abilities. <...>
Of course, I am pleased with this season because I had been inactive for three months before this. When I joined, we won the tournament in Katowice. It was a very good and prestigious tournament. And now, at the end of the season, we won another tournament. I am very happy to play for Team Spirit."
Additionally, sh1ro shared which match was the toughest for him this past season and what experience it gave the team.
"The toughest match for Team Spirit this season was against FaZe Clan at the Major. It was an excellent game, truly superb, I enjoyed everything about it... But we lost.
This defeat gave us a lot of experience and knowledge to improve our game in the future. The match was cool, and I gained a lot of emotions."
Today, Team Spirit debuts at the Esports World Cup 2024 in Saudi Arabia. In their first match of the tournament, the team will face MIBR – the winner guarantees a spot in the playoffs.
