FaZe's player, Howard "rain" Naigard, shared his thoughts on the reasons behind his team's defeat against G2 in the playoffs of IEM Dallas 2024 in an interview with the Dust2.us portal. The Norwegian admitted to insufficient preparation for the match and also highlighted the contribution of stand-in Jake "Stewie2K" Yip to G2's success.
"I think we made quite a few mistakes ourselves. I feel like we weren't adequately prepared for the maps we played on. Also, I think Stewie2K gave them a slight buff, one way or another. They capitalized on that and surprised us with their choice of Dust2."
rain also explained why FaZe hasn't achieved the highest results in recent championships compared to the success the team had after transitioning to Counter-Strike 2.
"I don't think there's any one specific reason; I think there are several. Maybe burnout? I feel like we're all tired. When you reach the finals in every tournament, you don't have weekends during the tournament itself. The flights and everything else only exacerbate the situation. After London, we'll rest well and start the next season with renewed energy."
It's worth noting that FaZe secured the 5-6th place at the Dallas tournament and received a prize of $10,000.
