PGL announced 11 CS2 tournaments

The tournament organiser PGL has announced several major championships for Counter-Strike 2, scheduled for 2025 and 2026. In total, the company has planned 11 events. The tournaments will take place in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Bucharest (Romania), Astana (Kazakhstan), Belgrade (Serbia), São Paulo (Brazil), and Barcelona (Spain).

Each of the announced tournaments will feature a prize pool of $1.25 million. Additionally, the organisers will allocate $450,000 for each championship, covering travel and accommodation expenses for the teams.

Each event will be divided into two stages: the group stage (using a 16-team Swiss system) and the playoffs (Single Elimination for 8 teams). These championships will be held independently of one another, meaning there will be no unified rankings or automatic invites for winners.

Due to the congested tournament schedule, PGL has decided not to hold open qualifiers. All participants for the upcoming tournaments will be determined based on the official Valve rankings. For the South American tournaments, two slots will be reserved for teams from the region.
