A recent controversy has shaken the esports world: during the live broadcast of the closed qualifier for the Shanghai Major (EU RMR), it was revealed that PARIVISION violated Valve's rules due to the presence of banned coach Ivan Kochugov (F_1N) in their TeamSpeak channel. This incident sparked considerable debate, as it breached tournament regulations.
In high-stakes esports, such rule violations can severely damage the credibility of both the organisation and the players. Teams must understand that rule breaches will lead to immediate repercussions. The community advocates for strict enforcement to ensure fairness and integrity for all participants.
Tournament regulations prohibit unauthorised individuals, including coaches and staff, from being present in the TeamSpeak channel with players. In PARIVISION's case, coaches and staff, notably the banned coach Ivan Kochugov, were present. This infraction was significant and led to severe consequences for the team.
Following a thorough investigation and consultation with Valve, it was decided to revoke PARIVISION's participation rights for the current Major cycle. The team has been disqualified from the RMR and any related Major events. To determine PARIVISION's replacement for the upcoming EU RMR, an additional BO3 cycle will be held involving three teams with 2-3 records from the A EU Closed Qualifier.
The matches will be organised as follows:
Match 1: KOI (seeded 2) vs. Monte (seeded 3) - BO3
Match 2: Winner of Match 1 vs. Bleed (seeded 1) - BO3
