The American esports club Cloud9 is facing difficulties in acquiring Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov from AMKAL. The transfer might be hindered by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). Insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov shared this information during a personal stream on Twitch.
"I was told that ICY can't move to Cloud9 because there's an issue where if he goes to Cloud9, ESIC might ban Cloud9 for violating certain rights. I don't know how they'll negotiate this."
ICY has been playing for the Russian organisation since December last year. A few days ago, AMKAL announced that ICY had been benched following rumours that Cloud9 was interested in Faiznurov. The club has also initiated an investigation into potential "improper conduct."
According to insiders, this decision might have been made because the Kazakhstani esports player allegedly took tests with Cloud9 without AMKAL's knowledge. However, the manager of the American organisation, Alexander "sweetypotz" Shcherbakov, denied these rumours.
