Aurora's team captain, Yevgeny "Norwi" Ermolin, evaluated the current state of Counter-Strike 2. The esports player believes that developers still have a lot of work to do on the game. Ermolin shared his thoughts on this matter in an interview with Cybersport.ru.
"It's still not that good. You can feel that people are heavily accustomed to CS:GO, which they played for ten years. But overall, in CS2, nothing has changed in terms of the macro – it's more about mechanics and such. I think in a couple of years, people will completely get used to it, and no one will complain. Plus, they'll fix all the bugs, add the features the community asks for, and everything will be fine.
I think some teams [I would add] that influence, like viewmodel and so on. I would just add a stable tick rate. <...>
Perhaps I would change the map pool. Currently, the map pool isn't that great."
Norwi also talked about whether his team sought help from a sports psychologist. According to him, the team currently doesn't have any psychology-related issues.
"We've made attempts, but... A psychologist is needed for the team if the team itself wants it. In my understanding, when you bring in a psychologist... There are different types of psychologists: there are psychologists you talk to, with whom you can discuss all your problems, and there are ones like Liquid, where the psychologist organizes team events and brings the team together.
"We had a psychologist we talked to. So each person talked to him individually, and we talked as a team. He didn't say anything we didn't already understand ourselves. I think most players, with some experience, understand their issues. The psychologist, roughly speaking, just reinforces that, and you rethink it again.
[So you're not practicing this anymore?] No, we haven't found any psychological issues yet. We've been playing together for a month. Maybe in the future, we'll turn to a psychologist."
