Niko: "At some point in my career I became a captain, that's 100%"

Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, a member of the G2 roster, discussed his interest in the role of captain in the game. In an interview with Dust2.us, the esports player stated that, for now, he won't be taking on additional responsibilities, but he plans to transition to the in-game leader position in the future.

"At some point in my career, I will become a captain, 100%. Not now, but I've been thinking about it for a long time. I know how I want to end my career, and it will definitely be as a captain because I believe it is my strength. Even though people didn't want to see me as an in-game leader—whether I played well or not, they just couldn't accept it.

However, at this tournament, there was something like: 'Come back, you know how to be a captain, you do great.' It's a bit wild for me, but overall it was a great experience that boosted my confidence in terms of game reading and everything else. For now, everything will stay as it is, but at some point in my career, I will have to become a captain."

It should be noted that G2's leader, Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, couldn't attend IEM Dallas 2024 for personal reasons, and during his absence, NiKo took on the captain's duties. As a result, G2 secured first place at the Dallas championship, defeating Vitality in the final. Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov positively evaluated his teammate's leadership qualities.
