HEROIC player Guy "NertZ" Iluz shared his thoughts on the current map pool in competitive Counter-Strike 2. According to the Israeli, HEROIC will not play on Anubis and Vertigo. The esports athlete expressed his opinion on this matter in an interview during the ESL Pro League Season 19 broadcast.
"It's just a nightmare for me. It's the worst map pool in CS history. I like Dust2, but could you add some other maps!
You have Tuscan. In 1.6, this map was my favorite. I've never heard anyone talking about Tuscan. But now we have these crappy maps like Vertigo! I would even call Anubis terrible. I just don't understand how the competitive scene should be built now. You just have a few options for defense on Anubis.
With Dust2, there have been a lot of questions too, but this map reminds me of Mirage – it's all about skill. You need to aim well. But we'll definitely be banning Anubis and Vertigo."
Earlier, Liquid team member Keith "NAF" Markovic talked about his feelings regarding Dust2 returning to the competitive map pool. The player admitted that he dislikes the map, but the team is ready to play on it.
