Monte GEN has become the first academy team to rise in Valve's rankings after defeating ALTERNATE aTTaX at CCT Season 2 Europe Series 12. Previously, MOUZ NXT held a higher ranking, but their recent results have declined.
Monte GEN recently finished 3rd-4th at CCT Season 2 Europe Series 9, losing to ALTERNATE aTTaX in the semifinals. Since then, they have performed strongly in CCT tournaments, including a notable 2-0 victory over TSM, who qualified for the RMR.
The team has played their last three matches without their captain, who is out until September 17 due to family issues. During this time, coach AiyvaN has stepped in and performed well.
Ryu, the team's standout player since his move from Monte, has posted impressive stats with a rating of 6.3 over the past three months. leen, the only Ukrainian player and a team member since its inception, also has a rating of 6.3. Two other players, the captain and shield sniper, and Gizmy, who previously played alongside Ryu, have a rating of 6.2. New addition fnl has the lowest rating at 6.0 over the last three months, but the team’s results remain strong.
Monte GEN is currently ranked 61st in the Valve world rankings and 44th in the European rankings. If academy teams were eligible for RMR qualifiers, Monte GEN could participate. Meanwhile, the former leading MOUZ NXT has fallen to 69th place.
