Magnojez: "S0tF1k said he saw a lot of potential in me."

BetBoom Team member Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov explained why he had been underperforming with K23 and recalled how he was subsequently invited to Team Spirit's youth roster. In an interview with HLTV, the Russian player shared how Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko helped him overcome his moral issues.

"After my time with K23, I went through a tough period with poor results. I think it was because I advanced to the next level too early, lacking some basic skills, which led to my poor performance. We were also constantly switching positions, but that's not as significant.

After being benched by K23, I was invited to Team Spirit's academy, and I spoke with S0tF1k. He told me he saw great potential in me. That really boosted my morale because I had been struggling with constantly telling myself that I was playing poorly.

Dima [S0tF1k] helped me get back on track and taught me some basic skills, since he is the academy's coach. He can help you learn how to play properly – without creativity, which isn't needed in the academy. Then, you reach the next level with full knowledge of how to play correctly. After that, you become an artist and start being creative”.

Magnojez also discussed how he joined the BetBoom Team. He mentioned that at the time, he received offers from various teams in Europe and the CIS, but he quickly decided to sign with the BetBoom Team.

"I had offers from both CIS and European teams. I prioritized two options: BetBoom Team and another team. I received several invites and went through trials everywhere, so there wasn't much choice. Then, I got an invitation from the BetBoom Team. We played together for two days, after which they offered me a contract, and I accepted. The decision was made quite quickly.”

Magnojez's team recently competed in the LAN tournament YaLLa Compass 2024 in Abu Dhabi. BetBoom Team finished in 5th-6th place at the championship, earning $20,000 in prize money.
