The participant of the NAVI team, Justinas "jL" Lekavicius, commented on his team's defeat against Team Spirit in the final of the recent BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 in London. In his remarks to the tournament organisers, Lekavicius noted that they primarily lost that match due to their own mistakes.
"It's sad when you lose to yourself rather than to the opponent. I feel like it wasn't them playing well, but us playing poorly.
That round on Nuke, when Aleksib's keyboard broke, really set us back. Despite telling ourselves it didn't matter and that we needed to focus on the next round, it still affected us greatly. We had all the chances to win that round, but it just didn't happen, so it was a big disappointment."
Lekavicius also assessed the current technical state of Counter-Strike 2. The Lithuanian esports athlete criticised the developers for not rushing to fix bugs in the game.
"Regarding the keyboard malfunction — it's a CS2 bug. I hope Valve will make an effort to fix the game as soon as possible, and I also hope they'll give me that damn trophy. It's annoying, as it's been almost three months already.
They release some random updates, but bugs with boosting and jumping haven't been fixed. There are still a lot of bugs in the game. This is unacceptable for competitive CS."
To recap, the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 took place from May 12th to 16th in London, United Kingdom. The total prize pool of the event was $425,000. In the final, Team Spirit defeated NAVI with a score of 3:1. Danil "donk" Kryshkovec was named the tournament's MVP according to HLTV.
