Jks on Liquid: "Everyone on the team has a lot of freedom"

The newly signed Liquid player, Justin "jks" Savage, shared his thoughts on the current Liquid roster, comparing it to his previous team, G2. In an interview with Monster Energy, the Swedish esports professional noted that all players in the current team are equal, and everyone enjoys a considerable degree of freedom.

"In G2, we had a roster full of star players, but now it’s different – in this team, it feels like everyone is trying to share the load, and we’re aiming to play more collectively.

I like the direction we’re heading in because everyone on the team has a lot of freedom, and I can contribute on equal terms with everyone. I think everyone gets along well outside the game thanks to our chemistry. I’ve only been with the team for about a month, so the mood and atmosphere are very good, and I’ll be very pleased if it continues this way."

Savage also commented on how Russell "Twistzz" Van Dulken is handling his role as captain. According to Justin, the team is supporting Twistzz as he adjusts to his new role.

"Everything is going very well so far. I think he’s doing great, considering he’s never done this before. He has a natural feel for the game, and of course, he played under karrigan with FaZe, so he already has significant experience. There will be challenges and difficulties along the way since it’s new to him.

The key is for everyone else on the team to make his job as comfortable as possible and to assist when we can, whether it’s on the server or outside of it. [...] Everything is going quite well, and our task is to help him grow as a leader and lighten his load a bit, since this is all new for him. Overall, I think he’s handling it very well so far."

Previously, Twistzz himself commented on his transition to the role of team captain. The Canadian esports player noted that, sooner or later, he would have become an in-game leader, though he did not expect it to happen so soon.
