Into the Breach signed by smooya

British esports player Owen "smooya" Butterfield has become the first player of the new Into the Breach line up in Counter-Strike 2. The organisation announced this on social media.

The club promised to introduce the rest of the team members next week. Smooya hinted on his X page that they would consist of three Britons and one Pole, with the team being coached by a Canadian.

Butterfield's last official team was The Witchers – he played for them from September 2023 to January 2024. Smooya stood in for FORZE at ESL Pro League Season 19, where the team placed 21-28th.

Recall that Into the Breach began restructuring the team back in February this year, shortly after failing to qualify for the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024. Initially, two players and a coach left the British club, and after some time, the remaining roster members were put up for transfer.
