The Serbian esports club iNation has announced its departure from the professional Counter-Strike 2 scene, with all team members becoming free agents. The announcement was made on social media.
The organization's management cited the recent announcement regarding the major and RMR tournaments as the main reason for this decision. This likely refers to the cancellation of open qualifiers for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
According to iNation's statement, the elimination of open qualifiers directly impacts the team's financial structure and its ability to achieve its goals. The announcement also mentioned that iNation hopes to return to the professional Counter-Strike 2 scene in the future.
Last year, iNation went through the open qualifiers for the BLAST Paris Major 2023 Europe RMR B but did not make it to the major itself, leading to the team disbanding in July. In April 2024, the club returned to the discipline with a new roster.
Former iNation roster:
- Luka "emi" Vuković
- Nikola "Dragon" Bošković
- Luka "c0llins" Živanović
- Jane "aidKiT" Apostoloski
- Zoran "xicoz" Markovski
- Uroš "eRCEG" Erceg (coach)
