Dataminer Maxim "Gabe Follower" Poletaev has discovered new lines in the Counter-Strike 2 code related to a system responsible for predicting damage dealt and received.
These lines of code appeared in the CS2 client following the release of patch, which included a range of fixes. Poletaev speculated that these changes are likely intended to improve the accuracy of hit registration in the game. He shared his thoughts on his Telegram channel, stating:
"The Counter-Strike 2 developers have updated something in the prediction of dealt damage. I doubt it’s related to anti-cheat measures, but perhaps they’re trying to fix poor hit registration."
It’s worth noting that the update brought several graphical changes to Counter-Strike 2, addressed a few interface issues, and improved the game’s stability. A full description of the patch is available via the provided link.
Previously, Gabe Follower suggested that in addition to the skins, charms, and other recent features introduced in the patch titled "Arsenal", the game is likely to receive another significant content update, including a patch capsule and reworked maps.
