FURIA's coach, Sid "sidde" Marcedo, shared that it was his idea to invite Felipe "skullz" Medeiros to the team. In an interview with HLTV, sidde admitted that he had been waiting for the opportunity to work with the Brazilian cyber athlete again.
"I'm happy that we're together because we've already worked together. Three years ago, I had the chance to work with him in Brazil, and we became great friends. He is my friend for life, and I've always dreamed of working with him again, I'm very pleased that it happened now with FURIA.
I was the one who suggested to the organisation to bring him on board because I already knew him and understood how he could strengthen the team and what contributions he could make that we were lacking. I believe he was the right addition, and I'm very happy he joined us."
Marcedo also praised the leadership qualities of the team's captain, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo. Sidde emphasised that it's always easy to communicate and reach a consensus with him.
"I feel completely comfortable because I've been working with FalleN for the last twelve months, so I know how he thinks and acts. It's not that he has all the power, but he has significant influence within the team and in our ideas; he's a true leader. He always has a substantial voice. But he's an easy person to communicate with, it's easy to talk to him and deliberate on ideas, and he's always open to new ideas. This is one of the things that make him an excellent leader.
He always listens, and it's really easy to work with him, so I feel completely comfortable. I feel that I can bring all my ideas to the team and him, and we will always find a compromise: sometimes he will accept my idea, his own, but we are always in a good position to discuss and come to a final decision on what we should do."
Earlier, FalleN gave a brief comment assessing his team's potential following a recent roster change. It is worth noting that FURIA became the last participant in the playoffs of the Esports World Cup 2024 after their victory in the Play-In stage.
