FalleN: "S1mple is probably the greatest to ever play CS"

FURIA Esports captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo described Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev as potentially the greatest Counter-Strike player of all time. In an interview with the "Kiber" portal, the Brazilian also discussed the possibility of playing alongside the Ukrainian sniper in a potential MIBR lineup.

"[Question: You almost had s1mple and flamie join you.] It would have been great to play with them. s1mple is a very complex person, but no matter how complex he is, he's extremely talented, right? He’s probably the greatest player ever to have played this game. I’d be curious to see how he would adapt. I’m not sure if it would work out, but it would have been interesting to try. At that time, we also liked flamie; he was a very good anchor with strong aim. Playing against him in all the matches with NAVI was challenging."

Toledo added that he would have given up the sniper role to s1mple if the transfer had happened.

"[Question: Who would be the main sniper in that team?] The AWP role would most likely have gone to s1mple. I’ve played other roles, and that helped me understand what other players and teams do and what the opponents are thinking. But yes, you can’t take the AWP away from s1mple."

The potential move for s1mple to MIBR was speculated in 2018. Although the transfer was rumoured, it was later openly discussed by the players. Along with Kostylev, Egor "flamie" Vasilyev was also expected to join the Brazilian team.
