FalleN: "Right now I'm trying to get back to where I once was"

In an interview with eScoreNews, FURIA's captain, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, reflected on his career in professional Counter-Strike. The Brazilian esports veteran expressed his belief that he can reach the top once again, despite acknowledging that his time in the game is limited.

"My career has been very challenging but fulfilling. Before winning all those trophies, I played for 13 years, starting in 2003. It was a journey where I had to become good enough to compete outside Brazil. I had to lose a lot to eventually become one of the best. Then it was all about staying at the top, which we managed to do for a year and a half, though it was also very tough.

We then experienced a decline because things change and nothing lasts forever. There were roster changes and other projects, but my journey continues, albeit in a slightly different way. Now I feel like I'm trying to reach the top again. It’s almost the same as before: I try to survive and do what I think is right with my mindset. Right now, I'm trying to get back to where I once was.

It’s all about enjoying the journey. I don’t know if it will happen, but I’m sure I have only a few years left to play. I’ve already spent a lot of time doing this. So, I’m trying to enjoy every moment and am very pleased that we’ve improved a bit, given the recent results."

FURIA defeated Virtus.pro decisively and advanced to the top six teams at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2 tournament in Serbia. FalleN’s team will face Team Spirit in a match to secure a spot in the upper bracket final.
