The European Pro League Season 19 for CS2 kicks off on Wednesday, with invitations extended to the following teams: Passion UA, 9INE, Unity, Alternate Attax, Permitta, Gaimin Gladiators, Johnny Speeds, Kono.ECF, Alliance, TSM, Apogee, Into The Breach, Verdant, Illuminar, Preasy, and Anonymo.
In Season 18 of the European Pro League, GUN5 Esports claimed victory, although they did not receive an invitation this time. It is unclear whether they declined the invitation or it was not issued. GUN5 Esports triumphed in their debut tournament, securing $11,000 for their win.
The tournament will commence with a group stage, from which the top two teams will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will follow a regular Double-Elimination format, allowing each team one loss. All matches will be played in a best-of-three format, with the final contested as a best-of-five.
As usual, some teams are expected to be favourites for the tournament. Passion UA, despite facing internet issues at their bootcamp, have shown strong performance. TSM, who recently replaced a younger player, and Into The Breach, boasting a roster with notable names but inconsistent results, are also considered likely contenders.
