Esports players told what they would add to CS2 from other shooters

Professional CS2 players discussed elements from other shooters they want incorporated into Valve's title. The survey was conducted by HLTV.org.

Justinas "jL" Lekavicius

He suggested implementing opponent loot systems similar to battle royales like Apex Legends and PUBG. Players can access a defeated enemy's inventory in those games and take items like grenades or weapons. He noted that in CS2, if an opponent has a rifle, you never get their secondary weapon, and improving this feature might be beneficial.

Shahar "flameZ" Shushan

He pointed out that Call of Duty allows players to communicate with enemies and thought adding this feature to CS2 would make the game more entertaining.

Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek

Having a long history with CS:GO, he felt that almost everything from CS:GO would enhance CS2.

Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen

He observed that while many first-person shooters incorporate abilities, he doubted they would improve CS. He suggested that for casual players, adding voice lines in CS2 might be enjoyable.

Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa

He joked about adding Jett’s dash from Valorant, but ultimately felt CS was already strong without needing skills or mechanics like Apex Legends' slide. Having experience with both Apex Legends and Valorant, he appreciated Apex's complex movement system but reiterated that CS feels fine as it is.

Håvard "rain" Nygaard

He simply wished for a 128-tick rate in CS2, which he believed would make the game perfect.

Dan "apEX" Madesclaire

Not particularly familiar with other shooters, he mentioned keeping an eye on Valorant and joked about adding Cypher-like cameras for IGLs to monitor the map.

Ricardo "rmn" Oliveira

He appreciated CS’s longevity and only mentioned one potential improvement: the radar system on multi-level maps like Nuke, which he preferred how it functioned in CS:GO.
