The 28-year-old Finnish esports player Joonas "doto" Forss has officially announced his retirement from professional Counter-Strike. He shared this news on his X social media page, offering some insights into his decision.
"After much reflection, I have decided to retire from my playing career. It wasn't an easy decision, but I leave with a smile, remembering all the wonderful moments. <...>
I've chosen to continue my career as a coach, as my passion for the game remains strong. I feel that in this role, I can fully realise my potential. I'm particularly interested in sports psychology, and I am already taking several university courses on the subject."
Doto began competing in professional Counter-Strike in 2015, playing for teams such as KOVA, HAVU, ENCE, JANO, and others. For the past six months, he had been inactive. Over his career, he earned more than $100,000 in prize money.
