Donk explained why Team Spirit refused to perform at IEM Rio 2024

Team Spirit player Daniil "donk" Kryshkovets explained why he and his teammates decided to withdraw from the IEM Rio 2024 Autumn Championship in Counter-Strike 2.

According to the Russian esports player, the team chose to focus on more significant tournaments – the RMR and the Major. Kryshkovets shared this decision with viewers during a stream.

"We decided to withdraw because of the crowded tournament schedule. We simply want to peak in form for the RMR and the Major."

It’s worth noting that Team Spirit received an invite to the European RMR event, bypassing the closed qualifier. The RMR tournament will take place from 17th to 24th November, with the Major starting on the 30th of the same month.

IEM Rio 2024 will be held from 7th to 13th October 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, featuring 16 teams. Participants will compete for a prize pool of $250,000, with the winner earning a spot at IEM Katowice 2025.
