A major mobile accessories’ manufacturer, dbrand, has launched a new range of skins named "Case Hardened". This collection not only offers stylish designs but also provides customers with a chance to acquire a rare Blue Gem. Purchasing a standard pack for $29.95 guarantees a custom-patterned skin with a 3.2% chance of receiving a Blue Gem.
Previously, dbrand offered the option to purchase a Blue Gem directly for $300, but this option has been removed in favour of randomisation. This decision may have been influenced by the recent record-breaking sale of a StatTrak AK-47 Case Hardened (Factory New) with a 661 pattern for $1 million.
Prices for the Case Hardened range from $24.95 to $49.95 depending on the model. Additionally, there was an option to increase the chance of obtaining a Blue Gem up to 15% for $127.99.
The Counter-Strike community's reaction described it as the ultimate "casino". Content creator Ozzny expressed his views on X:
"This new Dbrand 'Case Hardened' phone case seems like a clear attempt to capitalise on the CS2 community. But really... who would spend $130 for a 15% chance (!!!) at getting a Blue Gem phone case?"
