Representatives of tournament organiser BLAST have confirmed that former professional player Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez will no longer participate in their events as an analyst. The information was shared on BLAST’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:
"We are aware of the social media reports regarding complaints about inappropriate behaviour involving a member of the BLAST Premier broadcast team following one of our events.
For privacy reasons, we cannot disclose specific details, but we can confirm that this complaint was immediately and officially investigated, and the complaint was upheld in relation to an individual who is not an employee of BLAST. The complainant was informed of the investigation’s results in writing, and we do not currently plan to work with this analyst moving forward.
Such behaviour has no place in any setting, and everyone has the right to attend events without fear of the kind of behaviour described on social media. We will not tolerate such conduct."
On 4th September, allegations of sexual harassment were made against Maniac. Two women accused the former professional player of inappropriate behaviour at an afterparty following BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024. On 5th September, PGL also suspended its partnership with Quiquerez.
