Content creator Alexander "Nix" Levin shared his views on professional CS2 player Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev's esports school, describing the project as a failure. Nix expressed his thoughts during a podcast on the KD CAST YouTube channel.
"I couldn't do what s1mple did. With such a legacy, to producing such a garbage product—I couldn't sleep knowing that under my name, I released such trash. [Question: Do you think he thinks it's trash? Maybe he's doing it from the heart?] Well, damn. The backlash shows it's purely a commercial product, not made from the heart. You won't read from a teleprompter for this.
He is the god of this game [CS]. Most MVP medals, the most awards for best player of the year, according to HLTV.org. His course already has an unreal value, something many people would want to go through. Imagine Michael Jordan teaching you basketball. He's that level of greatness in CS, like Michael Jordan in basketball. Well, you expect something.
I'm sure he could do something cool, you just really needed to put your soul into it. But more likely, some guys came to him and said, Dude, we have everything, we'll sell this, it'll work, you have the name, let's monetise it.”
Kostylev announced the launch of his educational platform on May 10. The project is called 'Play like s1mple.' The first free lesson on economic rounds became available on May 13 on the website of the same name.
