Team Spirit's captain, Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov, assessed the likelihood of changes within his team. According to the Russian esports player, roster changes are unlikely, even if Team Spirit performs poorly at the Major in Shanghai. Vishnyakov shared this in an interview with HLTV.org.
"I think changes in Team Spirit are unlikely, both before and after Shanghai. You always need to assess the situation realistically. We have a very young team. In my opinion, the core of the team is the captain, the sniper, and the star player. And this core has only been playing together for half a year, which is very little time. Besides, some players are young. So I think changes are unlikely after Shanghai, no matter what happens, because most of the players here haven't yet reached their peak form.
We also need to consider the season: we won in Katowice, then made it to the playoffs in all tournaments with this young roster, and just before the break, we won a major event. This means it's not just about us going to Katowice and winning the tournament thanks to donk or a drafting advantage. No, we won another event four months later. The team is working and fixing mistakes.
Yes, we're going through a tough period right now; after the break, we couldn't regain our form, and we had some issues with the team atmosphere. But I think with the right approach – and we've been working hard on this – everything will be fine, so changes are unlikely."
