Falcons' coach, Danny "zonic" Sørensen, shared his thoughts on their recent matchup against Virtus.pro at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 in an interview with "Cyber".
"After our first series against 9z, we had a good discussion about our CT side on Mirage. We talked about how we should execute our strategies: using smoke grenades in apartments, rotating Snappi to B faster, and engaging in more fights together. This discussion was useful for us in yesterday’s match against Virtus.pro at the BLAST Showdown.
We played well on the CT side of Mirage twice in a row. Of course, it's also important that our players have been improving individually, which I see in practice.
From my perspective, it used to be easier to play against them [Virtus.pro]. You knew they would play slowly and had to be aware of their late rotations because they always had a lurker ready to set up rotations. They were difficult to push. Now, they are more unpredictable—sometimes playing fast and more often forcing engagements. Yesterday, we almost got a 4v1 against Jame when he didn't play it safe as usual."
Sørensen’s team emerged as the second winner of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, defeating Virtus.pro. Additionally, today the team secured a spot in the final stage of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2.
