Valve updated the rules for issuing invites to tournaments in 2025
The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have introduced some changes to the regulations that tournament operators must adhere to when organising competitions next year.
The amendments address the rules concerning invitations to championships. Organisers will no longer be able to divide regions into separate subregions when issuing invites. For instance, if a tournament operator is hosting an event in Asia, they are required to consider the entire Asian scene as a whole, rather than focusing on specific regions such as Southeast Asia.
However, this rule will not apply to tier-2 tournaments. Organisers of these events may implement additional filters during the invitation process, provided that these filters are not tailored to benefit specific teams.
Additionally, the updated rules state that tournament operators may use the most current version of the official Valve ranking when issuing invitations.
