Valve employee: ASUS RGB lighting causes lag in CS2
RGB lighting software for ASUS computer peripherals, branded as Aura, is causing lag in the gameplay of Counter-Strike 2. on the social network X.
The developer found that the process lightingservice.exe periodically pauses CS2 for 60 ms. For reasons unknown to him, this occurs during the display adapter enumeration call.
Fletcher publicly reached out to ASUS, offering to share ETW logs with the company's engineers to help resolve the software issue. However, he did not provide any advice on how players can protect themselves from these unexpected delays while the problem is being fixed.
