The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have allowed the team PARIVISION to participate in the European RMR tournament ahead of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. This information was announced on the club's social media.
It is worth noting that PARIVISION had initially won the closed European qualifier for the RMR. However, the organisers disqualified the team because, during the closed qualifier match, coach Ivan "F_1N" Kochugov was present in the same room as the players. Kochugov had been banned from participating in Valve majors due to a coach bug exploit.
According to HLTV sources, the Russian coach had appealed to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) several months ago. The regulator accepted the appeal, resulting in a reduction of Kochugov's punishment, allowing him to return to major events. However, ESIC did not inform Valve of their decision, which led to the current situation.
The CS2 developers have now been informed of the reduction in F_1N's penalty, and the decision to disqualify PARIVISION from the RMR tournament has been reversed in favour of the team.
