Thour: a wave of bans in CS2 is associated with “farms” for mining cases

The wave of Valve's anti-cheat bans in CS2, detected by several tracking websites, pertains to accounts used as "farms" to collect cases for matches played on official servers. This was announced by the well-known data miner Thour on Twitter.

“Most of the VAC bans that occurred yesterday were related to case farming. I've already confirmed this because none of the hardcore cheaters I played against have been banned yet.

Furthermore, the "Patrol" system still isn't operational. I haven't seen anyone with access. CS2 developers have not yet explained what they mean by "trusted partners" who will be able to review suspicious moments in matches.”

There was speculation in the community that with the latest major update, which added "Patrol," Valve activated the anti-cheat. Players' conjectures were based on statistics from tracking sites showing an unusually high number of VAC bans on April 27 in CS2.

It should be noted that in CS2, "farmers" refer to users who use special accounts that remain idle on official servers to receive free cases. These bot accounts can fill up servers to full capacity or kick out real players through instant voting.
