There will be no BO1 matches at IEM Cologne 2024
Tournament organiser ESL has adjusted to the format of one of the biggest championships of 2024 for Counter-Strike 2 – IEM Cologne 2024 – which starts in just a couple of weeks.
Based on feedback from players and spectators, the organisers have decided to remove all BO1 matches from the tournament. Participants will now compete in best-of-three series. This announcement was made on the social network X.
IEM Cologne 2024 is divided into three parts: Play-In (Double Elimination), Group Stage (GSL), and Play-offs (Single Elimination). The final of the championship will be played in a BO5 format, while all other matches will be BO3.
IEM Cologne 2024 will take place from 7 to 18 August in Cologne, Germany, featuring 24 teams. The total prize pool for the event will be $1 million.
