"There is no place left for me in the team," STYKO

Martin "STYKO" Styk, a cyber athlete from Slovakia, has explained his departure from the Monte roster in Counter-Strike 2. According to him, the decision was made by the team. Despite this, STYKO remains on good terms with his former teammates. He shared this on his social media page on X.

"I’m leaving Monte. I joined the team during a turbulent period, and during the off-season, Monte decided to change direction and continue with a Polish-speaking squad. I fully understand, respect, and support this decision, and after discussions, there was no place for me on the team.

My 2024 has been a rollercoaster, and I believe that a necessary break will help me reset and reignite my passion for the game. I will continue to hone my skills individually until the right offer comes along.

Honestly, I believe Monte can succeed with their Polish project. They have everything they need, and I’ll be watching and cheering them on."

Styk had been representing Monte since May of this year. The vacant spot on the roster has been filled by Kamil "KEi" Petkun, who played for 9INE from August 2022 to April 2024, after which the club placed him on the bench.
