The International Esports Federation (IESF) has suspended the Croatian national team from further participation in the Eastern European qualifiers for the IESF World Esports Championship 2024 for Counter-Strike 2.
According to a comment from an IESF representative, tournament referees discovered that Croatian esports players were using cheats during their match against the Israeli team in the upper bracket of the qualifiers. The results of matches that took place after that game will not be reviewed.
The Croatian team was disqualified before their match for a spot in the LAN final, where they were set to face the Polish team.
The Eastern European qualification for the IESF World Esports Championship 2024 is being held online from 6th to 14th July. The five strongest participants will advance to the LAN final, which will be held in Riyadh this November: the national teams of Turkey, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Serbia.
