TaZ gets a warning for tipping G2 outside of timeout

G2 Esports coach Viktor "TaZ" Wojtas violated the communication ban during a match at IEM Cologne 2024 by interacting with his team outside of timeout periods. According to ESL representatives speaking to HLTV.org and Dust2 Brasil, TaZ received a warning for this infraction.

The incident occurred during the match between G2 Esports and paiN Gaming. After G2’s victory in the seventh round, Wojtas approached captain Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski’s desk and pointed at a specific paragraph on a sheet that presumably detailed the team's tactics.

In CS2 tournaments, particularly those organised by ESL, any form of communication from coaches to players is prohibited outside of timeouts and breaks. The tournament operators stated that if TaZ repeats such behaviour, he will be suspended from assisting the team for the remainder of the match.

G2 Esports defeated paiN Gaming 2-0 in the deciding match of Group A and advanced to the playoffs of IEM Cologne 2024.
